Don't use Registry Mechanic, although it is a reputable application, using it without understanding it thoroughly can do more harm than good. It goes without saying that this is pretty advanced stuff, and if you're not a power user, then perhaps you should consider downloading an uninstaller.

It works like this:- Windows XP software look-alike- False system scan at start/restart (more than 2000 possitives)- Horrible new desktop- Center window that hides any other windows you open- Permanent Windows After that the installer makes some changes inside the Windows Registry. It freaked me out since I had no idea if this was a real threat or just someone trying to sell me something.
