I had to add EVERY site I visited to the trusted site list in tools >internet options, otherwise it would not work . This sounded suspicious and a possible problem. It was some work, but worth it. You are talking about just upgrading from Windows 7 or 8 to Windows 10 on the same machine ? (I understand that the new Microsoft Edge browser is made the default with the "Express" Windows 10 upgrade). Only reason I have IE installed is so that I can get the updates from MS. After working on this issue for countless hours, I was about ready to simply buy a new computer!
So here I do downloading it and install it. A tech person I know says that McAfee is notoriously hard to remove, and that little hidden parts can mess up your reinstall. I recommend to place them in a separate sub-folder. Thanks.
